The schooner CITIZEN, Capt. Fulton of and from Manitowoc for Chicago, with cargo of cedar posts and shingles, went ashore during a fog on Wednesday, on the beach about 6 miles north of this port. The U. S. Steamer MICHIGAN went to her on Friday morning, and endeavored to pull her off, but did not succeed. She parted a 14 inch hawser in the attempt. The CITIZEN is full of water, and being firmly imbedded in the sand, there is but little hope of getting her off. - - Chicago Dem. Press

RE-FITTED. - The schooner CITIZEN, which was towed into this harbor on the 2nd. of July, (says the Chicago Tribune) after having been ashore several weeks on the beach six miles north of this port, was lying at the dock near Wells Street bridge yesterday, having her sails bent, and being put in commission for a trip. Her hull was repaired at the dock of Dolittle & Miller, on the North Branch. She will cost her present owners, when in complete running order, about $1,500 - decidedly a cheap vessel. She is but four years old, and a good carrier.
