Light House For Sale. - In pursuance of instructions from the Treasury Department, I shall sell at public auction, on the premises, on the 18th day of August next, at 2 o'clock P.M., the old Light House at Oswego, (except the lantern and lamps) to the highest bidder for cash.

The purchaser will be required to take down the lantern, and remove all the materials from the premises as soon after the sale as possible. Dated July 27, 1841.

[Advertisement]       This lighthouse was subsequently demolished. The lighthouse keeper's house still stands, built in 1820, and is the residence of the director of Fort Ontario State Historic Site.
