THE BAY CITY:-- The tug BAY CITY, which during the storm of Wednesday last was sunk on the shore of Lake Erie, has we learn, by the surging of the seas, moved closer into the land, and now lies with her wheelhouse partly visable out of water. --- Detroit Free Press.

The stm. BAY CITY, which was lost below Malden during the storm of Wednesday afternoon, commenced her carreer as a passenger steamer between this city and Cleveland in 1852, and was then called the FOREST CITY, commanded by Capt. H.C. Vorce. In 1854 she was put on the route between this city and Sandusky under the command of Capt. J.M. Lundy, at which time the name of the BAY CITY was adopted. She remained on the latter route until some 2 years since, when, the business of the route not paying the current expenses, she was converted into a tug boat, and has been thus engaged up to the time of her loss. She was owned by Capt. Edwards, and of 479 tons burthen. We were not informed whether she was insured or not. She will doubtless prove a total loss.

The party of wreckers which left here a few days since for the purpose of raising the tug BAY CITY sunk on the shore of Lake Erie, have returned, having abandoned the undertaking. Her entire machinery and everything of value have been removed from the wreck, so that what is left is of little or no consequence. - Detroit Free Press
