Steamer ILLINOIS, damaged by collision with the Schooner ORIOLE, on Lake Superior.

      DAMAGES TO THE ILLINOIS. - The principal damage sustained by the steamer
ILLINOIS, while on her recent excursion to Lake Superior, by collision, is the carrying
away of her stem from top, down to below the water line, in which vicinity the hull of the
steamer is seriously injured. The collision must have been of great force. -- Detroit Free
Press.
