SKYLARK No.2 Schooner, ashore at Port Stanley; total loss.

SKYLARK No.2 Schooner of 312 tons, owned Chicago by Goodenow. Bound from Buffalo to Detroit, went ashore at Port Stanley, August 1871 with the loss of three lives. Vessel became a total loss. Loss to vessel $5,000. Insurance on vessel $3,000

      ASHORE. - It is reported that on Tuesday afternoon the schooner SKYLARK, laden with coal from Cleveland, was driven ashore near Port Stanley. Captain Warwick had both legs broken. He was lashed to a plank and safely washed ashore. The mate and cook (a woman) were drowned. It is thought the schooner would go to pieces.

      The schr. SKYLARK, which was wrecked at Port Stanley last fall, drowning 2 or 3 of her crew, has been raised in compariyively good condition, and before navigation is resumed will be ready for a start. It is thought aside from a small hole in her bottom she is as good as ever.

RESCUED. -- The schr.
