PARSONS, JOHN S. Barge of 203 tons, built 1891. Official U. S. Number 76999. With four persons on board on Dec. 8, 1910 stranded on Rock Shoal, St. Lawrence River. No lives were lost however vessel was considered a total loss.

Actually, the PARSONS only stranded and was raised and put back in commission. It was lost near Oswego during a storm on Nov. 24, 1913 with 360 tons of coal, being towed by the steamer "Frank D. Phelps."
