The new schooner Peacock, partly laden, was towed from the lower lock to the harbour, on Monday last [April 27], a distance of 3 miles, in 1 hour and 5 minutes. A few gentlemen and ladies went down for the purpose of taking an excursion on the lake, but were disappointed in consequence of a dead calm. The schooner Welland Canal, Capt. Northrup, cleared a few days previous.
