Madison barracks - The fine stone barracks just completed at Sackett's harbor capable of accommodating 2,000 men on a war establishment , and excellently fitted up were named "Madison Barracks" on the 8th of January, in honor of the battle of New Orleans, with discharges of cannons, &c. Gen. Brown was present on the occasion.
