Steam screw LUTHER LOOMIS. U. S. Number 141018. built 1889, of 29 Gross Tons. On May 14, 1913, vessel burned at Chicago, and became a total loss, of 8 persons on board, no lives were lost.

NOTE :- The LUTHER LOOMIS does not appear in any registers prior to the 1902 list, nor is a name change given. ?
Official U. S. Number 141018 was issued to a steam Propeller named LIZZIE, built Chicago 1887, and of 11.25 Gross Tons 7.88 Net Tons. Dimensions of 35' x 7'5" x 7' her Home Port is given as Paducah, Kentucky, this from the Merchant Vessel List of U. S. 1890 & 1891. The number combined with the place of build could indicate that the LOOMIS was a rebuild of the LIZZIE ???
