DISASTER -- We learn from the Detroit Post of this morning that the schooner W.A. CHISHOLM, bound from Toledo to Buffalo, with a cargo of 43,000 staves and a deck load of black walnut lumber, when near Point Pelee Passage, cap[sized and filled with water. Part of her deck load was washed overboard, and the rest thrown off. When the vessel righted on Saturday night, she came to anchor in Pigeon Bay, and a signal of distress was raised. The boat, manned by three of the crew, was sent ashore for assistance, but instead of returning, they all went to Detroit, leaving those on board without any means of procuring provisions, the hold being full of water. Yesterday forenoon the tug O. WILCOX went to the relief of the unfortunate craft, if those on board are not starved before assistance reached them, it will be more through good luck than anything else.
