Progressive Improvements - A survey has been made, maps drawn, and estimates formed of the necessary improvements of the Grand River navigation, and it is to be hoped that this vast addition to our inland navigation will soon be completed.

The next great addition, we hope, will be the Lake Champlain Canal. The vast importence of this canal, to complete our inland navigation, must recommend it to the immediate notice of the government. The outlay on these works may seem large, but we have too much at stake to hesitate now in making our large involvements remunerative.
