Lakes during 1869, Capt. J.W. Hall

The disaster to the barge FOREST QUEEN, on Lake Huron, as already noted, was more serious than was anticipated. After getting adrift from the tug she became a total loss at Pt. au Barque with her cargo. She was formerly the steamer of the same name and was built in 1855. The ROMEO, also lumber laden and in the same tow, was wrecked and became a total loss with her cargo. She was formerly a steamer and was built in 1845.
