Description
Full Text

A serious accident occurred on our canal, on Monday morning last, by which the upper gates of Lock No. 2 were broken by a vessel passing through - the Queen of the West, of Oswego; but under the prompt and diligent exertions of the superintendant, Mr. Woodruff, we have no doubt the damage has been repaired by this time. The trade and navigation of the canal opens promisingly and we have no doubt but that a busy and prosperous season has just opened upon us.
