Welland Canal - We are informed that the directors of this extensive and costly undertaking have not once been called together by the president, from the day of the meeting at the close of the last session until now. If this is the case, who audits accounts, isues orders, sellls mill seats, examines proceedings, and does every thing? On what authority is the £25,000 expended? And who gets the money? Were it not that the parties are far above all enquiry, we as public journalist would say to the president - "Pray Sir, explain. Are you not injuring the debtors of the canal while their cash is laying in the bank, through bearing interest against the public!"
