BADGER STATE Bark, cargo coal, on Erie 'Bar`, lightered off.
Marine Disasters on the Western
Lakes during 1869, Capt. J.W. Hall
The wrecking tug TILLINGHAST suffered considerable damage from getting on the breakwater while trying to help the BADGER STATE off a shoal in the harbor last Friday. But for the tug GREEN the TILLINGHAST would probably have gone to pieces as the gale was one of the hardest ever known here.
