EARLY BIRD Schooner. Home port, Muskegon. On Oct. 8, 1884, vessel capsized off Michigan City, Lake Michigan, with a cargo of wood; vessel recovered. Loss to hull $1,000. Loss to cargo $500. Insurance, Nil.

Michigan City. -- The COLBORNE arrived back after getting as far as St. Joseph. Her captain reported passing a wrecked schooner off the harbor with several men on board. The tug PEARL CAMPBELL went to the rescue and brought back the crew of the schooner EARLY BIRD. The vessel laden with lumber, is a total loss. It was owned by Captain E. F. Ault, of Muskegon.
