The tug COMPOUND caught fire under the pilot house about 7:00 last evening while lying under the breakwater. The tug's pony pump was put to work, and soon mastered the flames. The damage amounts to about $3oo. The lifesaving crew reached the tug in time to be of considerable assistance in quenching the fire.
