Manitowoc, Wis., August 28. -- The barge BALDWIN, bound from Sturgeon Bay with stone turned turtle in the heavy seas off twin River Point yesterday morning and one of her crew of three is believed to be lost. The others were rescued in a thrilling manner.
      The accident occurred about 3 o'clock, and without the notice of the crew of the tug TORRENT, which was towing the barge. They discovered it at daybreak.
      Capt. george Heim, of Sturgeon Bay was picked up this afternoon off Kewaunee by the Goodrich steamer CAROLINE. Life preservers kept him afloat. Another member of the crew was clinging to the overturned boat. Tugs searched for the third for hours, without success.

      The barge S. C. BALDWIN loaded with stone is reported to have capsized and sunk in Lake Michigan, two and one half miles from twin River Point light. It is said the barge lies in 60 feet of water.
