The Late Capt. Barrow.

Resolutions passed by local board of Normal school Saturday, Jan. 27th.

Resolved, that in the death of John M. Barrow this board recognizes the loss of a member who, though quiet and unassuming, was a judicious counselor, an earnest and liberal friend of education, always ready to co-operate with the board in every measure calculated to promote learning and the highest interests of our public schools; of a neighbor and friend who was always kind, obliging and generous; of a citizen who was ever faithful in the discharge of the public duties imposed upon himby the suffrages of the people, both as a member of the common council and board of education; of a man who was just and upright in all his dealing with his fellow men and who the confidence and esteem of all who knew him.

Resolved, That we extend to the family of th deceased, our warmest sympathies, and that we attend the funeral at the hour appointed at St. Paul's church.

Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be sent to the family of the deceased and to each of the daily papers for publication.
