UNITED STATES Schooner, reported sunk off Cattaraugus, Lake Erie, April 25, 1848.

      SCHOONER SUNK. - We are informed by the captain of the schooner R.C. SMEAD, that the schooner UNITED STATES sunk off Erie on Monday night last. She was loaded with staves and grindstones. The crew were saved, and went in a boat to Erie.
