Schooner LASALLE, in a squall on the September 22, 1849 was capsized on Lake Michigan, one man saved, eight lives lost.

      MARINE DISASTERS. - We regret to learn that the schooner LASALLE of this port, and on her way hither from Chicago, was capsized Saturday night between Racine and this place and all on board supposed to have been lost. The vessel was seen on her beam ends 12 miles out and opposite Racine, on Sunday, by Capt. Stewart, of the NEBRASKA. The LASALLE was owned by Messrs. Mitchell & Davis of this city and insured for $2,000. The schrs. CHAMPION and H. U. KING were despatched after the wreck last night. There were on board the LASALLE when she was capsized, the captain, Mr. A. Scott, the mate, Griffith, three hands and two passengers, whose names we have not obtained. - Milwaukee Sentinel & Gazette.

Scott, lost; Supposed Robert McFarland, hand, lost; Henry Griffin, mate, lost; Barney Lappen, cook lost; Frederick Brown, hand, lost; Charles Stewart, hand, lost; a passenger from Manitowoc, supposed name of Reed, lost; Andrew Moore, hand, saved.
