      . . . . .

The brig MARY, with a cargo from Chicago, ran on to the rocks about four miles from Barcelona, in thick weather. She threw overboard 7 or 800 bushels of wheat, which enabled her to get off, and within fifteen minutes from the time she made an offing, a heavy northeaster sprang up, but she rode it out in safety and reached this port on Monday evening. Fifteen or twenty minutes delay in getting her off would have proved her total destruction.
