The Storm On Lake Michigan. - The Chicago Democrat of Monday says: - "A violent storm commenced on Friday and prevailed without abatement up to Saturday evening. The wind blew with great force from the north east, and was accompanied with rain, hail and snow. It is feared that a number of vessels engaged in the lumber trade are out, and fears are entertained for their safety. On Friday evening, the schooner SUTHERLAND, loaded with wood, in attempting to make the harbor, ran ashore above the north pier. She lies against the pier, firmly lodged in the sand. It is thought she will not be materially injured.
She is owned by J.E. Sutherland, of this city. Her insurance expired on the 1st, instant, and had not been renewed."
