Thank you for gathering and posting these articles. John Parker, born in Pennsylvania, was my fourth great uncle. He was moving his family to Sturgis (Sturgis Prairie), St Joseph, Michigan from Livingston County, New York where he had lived since about 1825. Three of his children, Margaret, Lovina, and Samuel were killed in this explosion. These articles have provided great detail into a horrific tragedy.
