SANDUSKY Bark built Sandusky as the Steamer SANDUSKY , burned at Buffalo in February 1843 and afterwards rebuilt as a Barque. Lost in 1845.

"The steamer SANDUSKY was built at Sandusky, Ohio, and completed at Buffalo, in 1834. She was 377 tons burthen, and low pressure. She was commanded up to 1838 by Capt. T.J. Titus; in the latter years by O.D. Simons and subsequently by G.W. Floyd. She went ashore at Sandusky in the month of December 1836, was burned at Buffalo the 22nd. of February 1842---was afterwards rebuilt and converted into a bark and lost in 1845 at Cattaraugus."

Oct. 2.--Barque SANDUSKY, J. Day, Master, while engaged in getting up the engine of the ERIE, was driven ashore at Cattaraugus Creek and lost. Loss $4,000. Vessel 370 tons and ten years old.

During the blow on Wednesday the barge SANDUSKY, which is employed in getting up the ERIE went ashore at Cattaraugus Creek, carrying with her the boiler, shaft, and walking beam, successively raised from the wreck. As soon as these heavy articles are taken off from the SANDUSKY, she will be afloat again and proceed to accomplish the object in view.

      The old barge SANDUSKY having suffered so much by beating on the shore at Cattaraugus, has been stripped and totally abandoned. She was originally a steamer and was built at Sandusky, in 1834.
