LAKE ACCIDENT. - The schooner TEXAS, and the ship MILWAUKEE, ran ashore on
Thursday night near Sandusky - vessels and cargo thought to be lost. This occurred in consequence of the want of a light in the light-house. Both were endeavoring to make that port, and ran by a light on shore taken to be the regular light by them, and found their error only when they struck fast upon the rocks. - Daily Gazette.

THE MILWAUKIE AND TEXAS. - It is ascertained that these vessels are aground not upon the rocks as reported, but safe on a sand beach at Cedar Point, cargoes dry. The schooner JEFFERSON came out to the MILWAUKIE before she was hard aground, to lighten her. While there a gale arose, the JEFFERSON got aground and threw the goods of the MILWAUKIE overboard, but finally went ashore. The MILWAUKIE being eased, was driven farther on, and all must remain there till spring. - Gazette.
