DROWNED:- Capt. Henderson, of the Schooner GENERAL THORNTON, was knocked overboard by the boom of the vessel, near Chicago, and drowned on the 29th. of March.

Melancholy Accident -- We learn that on the morning of Thursday, the 29th inst. Captain Henderson, of the schooner GEN. THORNTON was knocked overboard by the boom of the vessel, while on her way to this port, and about five miles distant from the shore.
      Before assistance could be rendered he was drowned The body has not yet been recovered. ---- American
