The Wreck Of The Erie - Alluding to the search for this, the Lockport Balance says - "It will scarcely be credited, that this last company are guided in their search for the wreck, by clairvoyance: yet such is the fact. A lady residing at the place, has seen the boat several times while in the mesmeric state, describes its situation, and says there is a large amount of money, in bills and specie, on board. If it should turn out as she says, it will prove a great triumph to the believers in the "new science". The place where she sees the boat, happens to be half a mile distant from that found by the compass last winter."
