Steam Engines For The Lakes - We understand that the contracts for the building of the two engines, and the boilers and propellers for the same, recently advertised for, by the Secretary of the Treasury, in this place, has been taken by the Buffalo Steam Engine Works. These two are designed for the government iron steamer, for the lakes, proposals for the contruction of the hull of which, were issued at the same time. The contract for the steamer, we learn, has been taken by a house in New York. - Buf. Gaz.
