Port Burwell, April 20. -- The schooner JAMES SCOTT while trying to make this harbor, struck the west pier and sank within one hour. She may be raised but her cargo of plaster is badly damaged.

On Sunday, while the schr. JAMES SCOTT was trying to enter the harbor at Port Burwell she collided with the west pier and sank within an hour. The schooner was loaded with plaster, which of course was greatly injured. It is thought she can be raised.

The schr. JAS. SCOTT, which was sunk on entering Port Burwell a few days since, has been raised and will soon be in commission again. Aside from knocking a hole in her bows her damages were not serious.
