The captain of the rescue boat Dolphin was the brother of my great-great-grandfather. The captain's name was Nelson S. Chamberlin. I have a silver snuff box that was given to him. The inscription on the box reads: PRESENTED by the Irish Committee in the name of their Countrymen in Montreal TO Captain Nelson S. Chamberlin of the Steam Boat Dolphin as a Token of Appreciation for his praise-worthy exertions in favour of the Sufferers in the Shamrock Steamer. 9th July 1842
