H.S. HYDE Scow, damaged by collision on Lake Erie, November 1874. Property loss $300

The scow H.S. HYDE was towerd into Cleveland on Sunday with her foremast and headgear gone. The captain reports a collision took place Saturday night when off Black River, between the HYDE and an unknown vessel. The damage to the HYDE are quiet serious, but what was done to the other vessel is not known.

The tug CRUSADER passed up last Friday morning with the scow H. J. HYDES in tow, having her foremast, bowsprit, jib-boom and head gear carried away by a collision.
