Captain James Sutherland of the Royal Mail Line Steamboat MAGNET was given this silver tea service
Notes:
From a member of the family. The service was a gift of the officers and crew of the Magnet. The accompanying testimonial paid tribute to Sutherland's "uniformly kind and gentlemanly conduct towards [them] while under [his] command". The tea service will be in the collection of the Hamilton Museum of Steam and Technology.
