SCHOONER SANK. - Mention was made yesterday of a schooner being sunk near the Wells Street bridge on Friday night. Since then further particulars have been ascertained. The vessel was the ROBERT B. CAMPBELL, of Chicago, and was on her outward trip, bound for Grand Haven. About 11 o'clock p. m., when near the lighthouse, the tow-line which attached the schooner to the tug CYCLONE gave way, and she ran her bow against the end of the north pier, which knocked a large hole in her bow. The CYCLONE again fastened to her, and towed her back into the river as far as the bridge where she now lies, when she foundered and sank, with her deck below the surface of the water. The schooner was owned by Messrs. Kemmel & Schoeneman, and sailed by Capt. Chris Kemmel. She was a vessel of 122 tons (old measurement) and was uninsured. - Chicago Times
