BARK P.C. SHERMAN. - The wrecking steamer MAGNET, which has been on a visit to this vessel, ashore at Bois Blanc Island, Straits of Mackinaw, returned to this port early yesterday morning. Owing to the position she is in, it was impossible to remove her short of raising her by means of screws and other apparatus. Having no cargo in her, the usual mode of lightering her was out of the question, and nothing save the remedy indicated, can rescue her from where she lies embedded in the sand. The MAGNET left again last evening for the scene of operations, fully equipped and will, without doubt, succeed in bringing her into port. - Detroit Free Press.
