Fayette Packet (Schooner), overboard, 1 Nov 1829
- Full Text
The schooner FAYETTE PACKET, Captain Benj. A. Napier, in attempting to enter this harbor during the storm of Saturday last, struck against the end of the West pier, and in a few minutes sunk, a short distance within the piers. Her cargo consisted of 200 barrels of salt, belonging to I.S.Smith, of Buffalo, only about one third of which will be saved. The vessel will, probably, be got up.
On the night preceeding, Julius J. White of Richland County, in this State, one of the hands on board the schooner, was knocked overboard, and notwithstanding great exertions were made to save him, was lost. Ashtabula Journal
