On the 19th ult. several British vessels appeared off Oswego, and fired on that town, but without doing any injury. Capt. Woolsey, of the Navy, and Maj. Carr of the Infantry, with about 400 men, returned the fire, when the enemy retired. Col. Macomb has since taken the command at Oswego.
