On Friday the 7th. Schooner LORD BYRON, of Cleveland, Capt. Chase, loaded with coal, and bound to Toronto, sprung a leak and sunk off Madison Dock. Hands all saved.

During the last ten days, several vessels on the lake have suffered in consequence of the inclement weather. The following are reported. Sch. HENRY, of Oswego, Capt. Barrow, loaded with 3337 bushels wheat, from Sandusky, bound to Oswego, was dismasted off Fairport, on Friday last, and sunk. The crew came ashore in the yawl after suffering aboard from 5 in the evening till 3 in the morning.
      On Friday the 7th., schooner LORD BYRON, of Cleveland, Capt. Chase, loaded with coal, and bound to Toronto, sprung a leak and sunk, off Madison Dock. Hands all saved.

      LAKE DISASTERS. -- The weather through last week was very boisterous and unpleasant for the season, and the lake navigation was much interupted, and for several days almost entirely suspended. -- We have heard of several disasters to shipping in the vicinity. The schooner HENRY of Oswego, Capt. Barrow, loaded with 3,337 bushels of wheat from Sandusky, bound to Oswego, was dismasted off Fairport, 8 miles northwest on Friday last and sunk. The crew came on shore in the yawl after suffering aboard from 5 in the evening till 3 in the morning.
