The Canadian steambarge ALBION and Schooner ARK are ashore at Grindstone City and were abandoned by the crew today.

ALBION Propeller of 380 Tons. Built 1863, Owned by Muir and classed as B 1 and a half. On October 3, 1887 vessel went ashore on Lake Huron with a cargo of lumber, and became a total loss. Property loss, hull $7,600 cargo $7,500

      Buffalo.---Word has been received from Captain Mcleod that the propeller ALBION, lumber laden, consigned to D.L. White & Co. Tonawanda, which went ashore at Port Auston on the 3rd., is a total loss, though her load will be saved. The Barge ARK, in the same tow, was released from the same place Thursday with little damage.

ALBION Barge of 250 tons reg. and 11 years old. Home port, St. Catharines. On October 3, 1887, the barge, while bound from French River to Tonawanda, stranded between Grindstone City and Port Austin on a rocky bottom and became a total loss.
