DETROIT.---The steambarge COLONIAL, bound down, broke her connecting rod at St. Clair Flats early Monday morning. She was picked up by the Tug CARRINGTON and towed to this port, where temporary repairs will be made to enable her to reach Cleveland with her cargo of ore.
