Sault ste. Marie.---The schooner JOSEPH PAIGE, in tow of the steambarge NEW ORLEANS, coal laden and bound up, collided with the steambarge LOUISIANA, bound down, on the 11th. inst. From the statement of the captain of the PAIGE the tows met with proper signals, one whistle, and the LOUISIANA took a sheer to the starboard, running between the two vessels and parting the tow line. The PAIGE struck the LOUISIANA a glancing blow abreast of her pilot house, carrying away part of the house, bridge, and all standing rigging. The PAIGE lost her entire headgear and knightheads and her poopdeck was lifted forward. Her stem and planking opened, and it was impossible to keep her free without a steam pump. She is discharging her cargo here and will be towed to Port Huron for repairs.
