Chenango (Propeller), aground, 30 Jul 1887

Description
Full Text

Detroit.---The new steambarge CHENANGO, wheat laden, on her maiden trip from Detroit to Buffalo, ran hard on at the Linekilns last Saturday evening. She was pretty hard on the east bank and about 100 feet out of the channel. She was released at 9 o'clock Monday night. The captain is a good man and he knows the channel, but the steering gear of the new boat fouled.
