In the great gale on Friday the 14th the schooner Highlander, Capt. Jacques, belonging to Mr. Ranney of this place, was lost near Port Stanley, to which place she was bound, with a cargo principally of coarse salt. She came ashore a few days afterwards, a perfect wreck - not a soul saved. Our readers will remember that the Captain's marriage was only chronicled a few weeks ago.
