Beauharnois Canal - An extract from a slip published at the office of the Montreal Herald, on Saturday, gives the verdict of the Corner's Jury on the persons killed at the Beauharnois riot. It is to be hoped that there will be no more of such proceedings as have been had at the Welland Canal, Lachine Canal, and Beauharnois Canal. People must learn that wages are to be settled only by the voluntary agreement of the parties and that a resort to violence can and will be put down. - Que. Gaz.
