A MARINE JOURNAL. - The Nautical Gazette having died a natural death some weeks since, it is now proposed to establish a journal of this description on the lakes, as will be seen in the following from the Toledo Commercial: "Col. Richards, the well known publisher, is making arrangements to begin at this point the publication of an elegant eight-page paper, to be called the Marine Record, devoted to the shipping and trade interests of the Great Lakes. The enterprise will undoubtedly meet with success, as no such paper is now published in the West, and the need of it has long been felt. Capt. Hall, the veteran marine reporter, has been named as the editor, and his lifetime of experience will doubtless be of great value to the paper."
