MARINE. - The steamer DIAMOND left here for Erie yesterday, but was compelled by the violence of the gale to put back. In attempting to enter the harbor, she ran her bow on the south pier. While in this position the schooner BUENA VISTA in making port ran her bowsprit into the stern of the DIAMOND, doing considerable damage to the joiner work of the steamer.

COLLISION.- During the heavy blow of yesterday, the steamer DIAMOND in trying to make the harbor, having been obliged to put back to port in consequence of the gale, went on the the bar and swung round in such a manner as to bring her stern in contact with the schooner BUENA VISTA, also coming in. The propeller MONTICELLO, following closely, struck the schooner, but was not damaged, we believe. The bowsprit of the schooner entered the upper cabin of the DIAMOND, tearing away considerable of her joiner work but without injury to her hull. The accident, inder the circumstances was unavoidable.
