Detroit (Steamboat), storm damage, 13 Sep 1851

Description
Full Text

The high wind that arose on Saturday morning, raged for 48 hours without intermission, abated yesterday morning. We have heard of the following disaster resulting from it:--The steamer DETROIT, started for Sheboygan Saturday morning and arrived off that port, but was unable to make the pier, put about and returned. Her larboard wheelhouse was carried away in the gale, and she will be delayed a day or two for repairs.
