The Maritime History of the Great Lakes
Buffalo (Propeller), aground, 18 Oct 1854

Description
Full Text

The propeller BUFFALO, in coming into the harbor last evening, grounded on the bar, and was still there at dark. Measures should be immediately taken to remove the sand that accumulates on that bar, as vessels drawing over nine and half feet of water run the risk of grounding in entering the Creek.
