The propeller FREE STATE, after rounding to, Saturday afternoon, to enter the harbor, had her rudder carried away, and she broached to, and became almost entirely unmanageable, she kept off the breakwater, by dint of hard work, and was finally got inside by the aid of steam tugs; it was a narrow escape.
