COLLISION:- the propellers CITY OF BOSTON and the MILWAUKEE were in collision off Point Wangoshance, in the Straits of Mackinac on Wednesday morning. The former was so severely damaged that she sank in a short while. Her crew were rescued.

Thursday night the Northern Transportation Co.'s prop. EMPIRE arrived down, having in tow the wreck of the prop. CITY OF BOSTON, lost by collision during the fall of 1868. Her upper works are all gone to the main deck and her stern badly wrenched, otherwise the hull is in good condition. She left during the night for Cleveland, where she will go into drydock and be thoroughly rebuilt a a freight and passenger boat.
